Fabrication Shop Manager - Fort Wayne
Justin’s responsibilities include monitoring project changes, helping to ensure components are being fabricated and loaded within the scheduled ship dates, confirming material orders, and monitoring lead times so that scheduling can be updated. He stresses the need to deliver quality parts to our jobs, so that time and materials are not wasted once they arrive on site.
In his supervisory role, Justin helps to ensure that proper procedures for welding, cutting, grooving, threading, and material pulling are being followed as per our standard operating procedures. Safety is the top priority of all day-to-day operations, so he presents different topics for discussion at daily safety meetings that are attended by all workers.
Justin joined the Shambaugh team in 2007 as a LU 669 sprinkler fitter apprentice, and has earned a bachelor’s degree from Washtenaw Community College, Ann Arbor, MI.
After apprentice, he progressed through various levels of responsibility including journeyman, foreman, and second shift fire protection fabrication supervisor. In 2020 he was promoted to his current position as Fort Wayne fabrication shop manager.
Justin’s professional certifications include OSHA 30-hour for General Construction, forklift, aerial lift, first aid, and CPR.
Justin and his wife have three sons and a daughter. He enjoys outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, hiking, and most sports. He and his family spend their free time in the summer at the lake, boating with family and friends.
